Man, every time, i forget how much downtime there is in tourneys.  Both participating and even in watching.   Now that I think about it, that was why I stop attending locals.

 

Well, that and not wanting to stay up to 2am in my mid-thirties.

I did feel like I was getting better in each loss though as the matches went on.  Makes me think I really just need to play more often.

Dude. I have had the experience several times where I'll start learning a game unintentionally picking a higher tier character but end up being more interested in some low tier trash character like Remy, Amakusa, or MK9 Kano who I invariably end up putting tons of time into before eventually coming to the conclusion my time would have been better spent playing the original characters.  😑

Went on a 7 game win streak in Ranked. Then I remebered I was bad at this and got 2-0'd by a Cammy. A suggestion was made in the chat. Maybe we should password lock the tournament. Cap entrants at 8 or 16. If it's just us, I think it'll cut back on the down time.

The number of people was ok it was the insane amount of waiting for literally no reason. Like my 3rd match I waited 10 minutes to fight *after* it matched me with another person. You could look around the bracket and see who was fighting and i swear there were points where everyone was in the lobby just waiting.

Yeah, I was thinking that too… I’m pretty sure when people were playing, there was a “VS” sign flashing, but there were definitely times when that wasn’t happening, but the results weren’t being populated.

Danslip was one of the better Cammys early on in SF5.

It's a bit funny that despite how complex Tengu Stone looked pre-release, just mashing MP while it's active and then cancelling into CA for 60% is one of the easiest to execute damage dumps in the entire game.

 

I wish my opponents would start learning some more fancy stuff though.

I'm not a fan of SCVI but it was obvious he pushed hard for the series to keep it alive compared to whoever was in charge for V (though ironically I liked that game more).

 

Hopefully they find a suitable replacement, would be a shame of Namco would also go down the "one fighting game per generation" route like Capcom.

So I went back for real to Rose and I felt like Goku coming out of the time chamber, taking off the training clothes and going Super Sayan all at the same time. I wouldn't even say that Rose is way better than Akira (she is better, but probably not that much) but having buttons with reach no matter how shitty the frame data is is just so much better for my preferred playstyle. I pulled a straight UNO reverse card on all those guys that kept running over my Akira. The Soul Bind buffs are very noticeable. Next stop will be ditching Satellite for the cards so that I can more actively build V-Gauge. 

 

Took me forever but it's cool to finally have a character I feel comfortable with and who also doesn't put me to sleep when playing (otherwise Falke would have been it but zzzzzzzzzzzzz....).

Rose is a cool character but she is not better than Akira in my opinion. I personally think Akira fits the SFV meta better than her as she is Karin + Sakura light to an extent.

 

But Rose has the benefit or having a more unconventional playstyle so it makes it more difficult for the opponent to approach you on their terms. So , if that's more your style i can see why she works out better for you.
