holy crap this guy's on fire in Blood Hunt at the moment... live right now

goddamn the movement skills.... ohhhh I'm so jealous; last match there was a moment when he was in a mid-range firefight with someone, another person was firing way in the distance from behind... he switched around real quick with sniper and boom.... beautiful headshot on that bastard in less than a second, then went back to chasing down the other one... the highlights that can happen in this game are ridiculous.

Where was Sony at when Square sold off their Western studios? For 300 mil they could have gotten way more than what they paid for Bungie

Holy shit fucking facts. I think Bungie is a good buy but good lord SE just sold a ton of quality for basically nothing.

But then SE never truly appreciated what they had so...I guess no surprise at the price.

So have Square Enix gone completely fucking insane or what?

They've just sold 3 major studios, two of whom brought their multi million unit projects over the last few years, and now they're left with... Uhh....

Ff7 remake part 2, which we haven't even seen yet (and Nomura is apparently again spread thin by working on Kh4)

Ff16, which we haven't gotten any footage of recently (but apparently the development is going smoothly, believe Yoshi P)

KH4, which I sure fucking hope people won't have to wait 15 years for

Ff14, which more or less kept the company afloat

The rumored ff9 remake (prolly similar to Mana remakes)

And Dragon Quest 12, for which there was only a teaser

Brilliant portfolio right here boys

Anyone here been to Galloping Ghost arcade?

https://www.gallopingghostarcade.com/

Supposedly like the biggest arcade in the country and it has a pinball place right next to it too.

Buddy and I are flying there in a couple weeks for the day to check it out.  Curious if anyone has been there before and has opinions on it.

My friend lives in the same city galloping ghost is at. The first time she visited it she sent me a video of her self walking around the place just to show me how massive it is.

I’d love to fly out and see it in person

The buddy I went with went like 4 months ago and said it's pretty neat but there were quite a lot of games with issues, especially monitor issues.  Like colors were off for the most common issue he saw.  Then some games were just off, assuming they didn't work.

He said it was still cool though and is wanting to go back with someone.

Man, I was so dumbfounded by the stupidity of the sale. I didn't even pay attention to the price. Did Embracer Group roll up on Square Enix like Suge Knight did to Vanilla Ice? That wasn't a sale that's a damned robbery. That's the kind of price a company gets during a bankruptcy liquidation.

I haven't been there in ages they had a lot of games from what I remember also modern games like SFIV cab and KOF XIII that was the main reason I went there. Entry was like 15 dollars and you could play all day long. Me and my body were invited to a tournament they were doing on KOF XIII one day I almost took the whole thing but lost the final to one of the old srker, forgot his name.

I guess the place is pretty good if you can go with a couple of friends and have fun. I stopped going cause noone would play me so I was just there playing alone. I didn't see anybody actually having skills in any of the games either maybe that has change i need to check it out again.

Square Enix, bought those companies thinking they would help solidify their status as a global power and maybe help them get foot holds in other international genres. But I am guessing after the last few years and all the stuff going down now, the money men are panicking and opted to sell it all away.

The optimist in me likes to think they sold it all so cheaply to Embracer to enable that the companies that involved keep most of their own autonomy  as a kindness but then again this is Square Enix they might have just said give us the bag up front and then threw the companies out the door.

It's been reported that Square sold the western studios because they felt their games were underperforming commercially and they wanted money to invest in Blockchain and live services.

I’ve been there a few times, most recently March of this year. $20 for the arcade, $15 for the pinball, and I believe $40* for both. You pay as soon as you get in and as long as you keep the receipt, you can stay as long as you want until closing (2:00 am).

I had a blast every time I went. Just wall to wall of arcade games as soon as you leave the counter. They separate genres and series in a couple ways. There’s a room of Shoot-em-ups, a line of SNK games, a wall of beat-em-ups, etc. They even have machines for games that didn’t officially release. Sometimes they have special guests there as well. One time the actors for Mortal Kombat 2 came and I saw that cheater, Billy Mitchell, on a random Saturday with a recording crew.

If there’s one thing I can call a problem it’s that some machines may not work. This can range from buttons not working to monitors not being on. They also have rules for not eating there so figure that out before you go. I will recommend going there as early as you can if you’re going to go. Not just for the parking, it gets crowded the later it is. It will be hard to move around that many people.

*That was a mistake. Pinball and arcade is $30.

Thanks for that info.

We are going on a Friday and getting there as soon as they open.  Our flight lands at 10:30am and they open at 11am so we should be there right at open or close to it.  And it's on a Friday while people are working too so that should help a bit.  We're just ubering from the airport so we won't have to worry about parking.

This is me going off on a tangent. But I always found it the craziest thing, folk have the talent to rip or copy in game assets at a high level, modify them and then go about making porn. I get folks have been doing lewd drawings/hentai and such since before film for fun but CG porn just seems like a lot of work for it to be made for so many platforms. I mean even if it is commissioned it just seems like people keep making so much of it I am surprised at both the audience and those that supply it are so large.

whoah, so on PS5 at the moment, Curse of the Dead Gods is one of the PSN games for May.  I already have it on Switch, but I figured I may as well have it on PS5 as well, especially as a "bonus" for having psn+ now.

I've had so much fun already with Blood Hunt... I realize this would be an outrageous hot take to the average fan of VtM lore... but I'd love it if the core action/combat part of Bloodlines 2 ended up like what we see in Blood Hunt....or at least a more complex version of it (*since you only get 2 active supernatural abilities and 1 passive...and "heightened senses" I guess you could count as 4th power.  Of course I'd be in favor of having access to more powers at any given time.)  The fast-paced action is great... and the animations of how everything plays out looks so cool... as I said it reminds me of Unreal Championship 2 and The Matrix movies, with characters pulling off insane stunts during combat in an urban setting....and of course I enjoy that element of the ever-present "Masquerade" always being an issue... you've breached masquerade if you carelessly fed on 1 person while another person just across the street can see it....or if you do anything that is obviously a superhuman ability in front of people.  (*in the game, this instantly marks you for a while, so you are now highlighted red for everyone else in the map... you're now revealed as a target for other players and the "Entity" soldiers.  The npcs that witnessed something are always shown to be confused and scared, then they start running away.  Note---with Nosferatu's curse being their very appearance, just being seen is an instant masquerade breach, since they naturally look like monsters.)

Crowbcat made a video comparin Back 4 Blood and Left 4 Dead some months ago.

The gist of it is that it suggests that Valve carried Turtle Rock when it came to the former.

And tbh, I can kind of agree, seeing how their next games after the separated from Valve have been inferior in many ways to what came before.

Kind of telling how Left 4 Dead 2 is between 10k to 14k players right now, while Back 4 Blood is at less than 3500

CG animation allows you to reuse part of the process with other 3d models.

Plus, once you get the workflow down, you can be efficient while making animations.

Take for example LazyProcrastrinator, a 3d pornomancer, he reuses the same animations plus some little tweaks with mutiple 3d models from DOA, FF, etc.

What really is amusing is the people who use their own 3d models they work on and do movie caliber visuals and animations, those people are insane.

No pity for those fools whatsoever. The believe all women mindset combined with court of public opinion turning backs on the accused hurts both sexes in the abuse allegations, sexual, domestic, or otherwise

From now on there will be legitimate cases of girls being mentally and physically tortured by relationships and people will say "well yea but remember what Amber was like"

Or there will be legitimate cases of dudes acting like possessive dominant assholes and when reported people will say "OK but look what happened to Depp"

This shit is fucked up however you look at it

Or remember how Quentin Flynn lost his VA employment because of allegations? Or Chris Avellone being near cancelled but turned out he's innocent? Or that one indie game dev committing suicide because the society turned his back on him after some twitter ho yet afterwards it turned out to be all lies?

I hate that I missed out on the glitch that causes the goddamn Fire Giant to just die abruptly.  I hate this big cheapo piece of shit much more than most bosses in the game.  I got lucky the last time I beat him, tbh.  His range is just stupid... he slaps the ground or digs the shield into the ground....and if you are on the same planet, then you get hit.  ...and it seems much more difficult to stay close to him now....like they figured he wasn't quite tough enough.  Yeah, if I met who designed this boss... I would indeed be tempted to punch the bastard in the face one good time.

fuck it... time to just grind runes until I'm some absurd level to be able to even have a chance to possibly get lucky in this fight again, I guess.

edit---oooh, that dude just went live with Blood Hunt again!

LOL @MillionXI got to the Fire Giant last night on my NG+2 and cut it off after losing like 4x.  I'm level 203 right now too and he doesn't go down easily.

Last night I did the Frenzied Flame thing to get that ending when I beat it.  I'm not a trophy hunter by any means but that is the last one I need for this game and probably won't touch the game again once I beat it this last time.  It's at least giving me a reason to keep playing because the game is just so good.

I also can't believe how someone actually figured out the Frenzied Flame thing.  I got to the boss myself without any guides down in the sewers, but to know what you have to do after beating the boss and to figure that out is just nuts.

It's also crazy how fast you can just blow through the game when you know where to go and aren't exploring.  Like I got through the whole land of the giants in like literally 5 minutes from entering it on the great lift to the Fire Giant.  My first play through I probably spent like 10-15 hours in that area just exploring every inch of it.

Yeah, this other playthrough on the ps5 version... it only has around 40-ish hours at the moment, and a lot of that is from me just sitting around in the game doing nothing at certain points (tv or youtube in the background, enduring the marathon conversations with Dad on the phone, etc.)  ... this character is about 105 at the moment.  Since I have that snowy area unlocked I may as well find the teleporter to get to the infamous Caelid farming spot then...that's a way you can get there without the Varre quest.  I think they may have reduced how much damage Fire Giant takes from Bleed, apparently?  Then again, my Reduvia dagger isn't maxed out just yet, it's 6 or 7, if I recall... I'm also not quite at the soft cap on arcane yet... I was trying a Sorcery build earlier then changed back to Arcane/Faith....and of course I can't afford to just keep switching back and forth; I'm down to 2 or 3 "larval tear" items now....definitely need some more of those.  I would like to have the best of both worlds though... just high Int and high Arcane + faith.

There's a lot of ridiculously OP builds in this game though... so eventually I'll have to just resort to one of those to have a chance.

Honestly in the Depp and Herd situation the only people I feel bad for are James Wan, Jason Momoa and everyone else trying to make Aquaman 2.

I only feel bad for Johnny in that he did what they agreed to in their divorce and yet she still felt the need to leverage him as a prop for money and clout while lying about her being exactly the same in their relationship, if not worse since she seems to be the main instigator of their conflicts, and was the one to always escelate said conflicts to violence. Its hard for me to say I don't respond to violence in kind.

The rest of my enjoyment is just seeing "Believe women" get dragged so damn hard. Im tired of women getting a free pass on abuse. I also like watching shitty people get dragged, Johnny strikes me as a weirdo artist with quirks while Amber seems batshit crazy and manipulative, so i get schadenfreude from seeing her make an absolute fool of herself on the world stage.
