Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had an idea that "sounds cool on paper" but doesn't work out in practice. The Blades were created by multiple artists. In addition to some of them being meh, the artstyle was utterly inconsistent because it. You could run around in party with 4 different artstyles at the same time. 😑 Multple artists are good for variant covers or art books but not for in game assets.

Yea thats a failure of the director/art director. They failed to make sure there was any level of cohesion between all the guests artists. Yoy can have gueat artists while still maintaining your overall artistic cohesion. DMC3 had Kaneko design its DTs and while they do stand out against the rest of the Demons in the game they still manage to fit in over all with the games looks and style and color choices.

But even without that I think a lot of the Blade designs are really bad. Even if they where in a game with cohesive art design I would still think a lot of them suck.

I want to say I'm surprised at some of the excuses/ignorance/shit takes regarding the black character but I'm not.

Meanwhile Japanese dudes are going to barber and getting their hair permed to be nappy enough for a fro and/or braids. No wonder their characters designs have been on point. I'm waiting for Matsumoto to show up at the SF6 character reveal with some fresh braids or a fro. Dude keeps his line up clean. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

I think all of that was hilariously accidental. They were thinking getting multiple artist to contribute would help speed up the process trying to hit the Switch launch year, which they did getting it out by December that year, without realizing they didn't give enough instructions leading to what they got.

Personally I love it, while some indeed look like ass and you have a major character that is basically just the artist redrawing one of their favorite Final Fantasy characters, it is an interesting visual. Plus anything is better than what we got with the Xenoblade Chronicles X models.

I wonder how many of these people enjoying the Fallout show jumped into the games out of curiosity thinkning---- "...hmmm...maybe I'll check out that latest one, Fallout 76... it's probably cool, right?"  Famous last words there 🤣  I still have no idea how anyone checked that out for even 5 seconds of research thinking it would be something good....other than hardcore Fallout fans that just happened to be desperate for anything new in the franchise at the time.

It's firmly in that "...not even if it was free." category for me....get that hilariously awful looking wack ass nonsense out of here.

Sometimes it's just fun to spew some hate, y'know?  This reminds me to check in on what's going on with the few remaining Redfall fans.... 😆  Good thing I made sure to dodge that disaster....such a shame though; I was interested in it at first.

I agree. I think she looks great. Design is good, she looks strong. But certain people have problems with it:

Others are bothered at the fact that apparently DEI had something to do with the character:

Wacky convo also

Who are these omegadorks who are getting outplayed by an anon with an anime profile picture. You have to have a crippling porn addiction and severe isolation to be saying the stuff that this guy is responding to with basic reasoning. I'm talking about the kind of addiction where you push the 2 kilos of coke off your desk to make room for tissues and lube after the newest Mia Malkova drop.

I recently bought The Darkness on sale on Xbox... it and the sequel are frequently on sale for super cheap prices, like 2 or 3 bucks usually.  Strange thing is that the character and concept and art/design always stood out as cool to me, though I never got around to buying the comics back in the 90s....kept putting it off but never got to it...I was all in on the hype of Spawn and some other Image books at the time.

....and WHERE the hell is Spawn in videogames these days?  I don't think he's been in anything aside from fighting game cameos in the past several years, and that's a shame.

Bruh...

The Darkness is great. Morally ambiguous main character, dark setting, great storyline. Top Cow has been collecting all issues, and releasing TPB on Kickstarter. You can also get them digitally from KS next time they do a new volume I bet.

Or get digital collections from Amazon.

Get to it!

I'm in Virginia right now so I'm not able to check out that new game about the hot chick with the ass and ninja sword yet. Anybody play it?  Is it dope?

It is a Souls like action game. Gorgeous character model but if you looking for Nier this ain't really it.

Penny's Big Breakaway is $19.97 on the eShop for anyone interested. I'm hoping this game eventually gets a physical release.

Itlooks pretty great but I'm also hoping for a physical with all the patches. I know it was a little glitchy at release.

I'm just now fully getting caught up on the "Hard R" controversy surrounding Stellar and I find it more funny than anything.  I don't feel offended at cause in terms of context its not the actual word and its not really being said to anyone in particular on top of the circumstance of the shop itself being called the R shop.  At the same time I also have to consider statistics here...this korean dev had the chance to put any english word in front of R shop on that stage and they landed on "hard".  I don't really want to think there is any malicious intent in it but I can't help but think about how coincidental it was.

I thought it was a big nothing burger. It's another case of American arrogance to be perfectly honest. Too many people here expect people from other countries to understand the idiosyncrasies of our culture. And I'll say what I did elsewhere. This being offensive is a big reach yet it got fixed immediately. Game isn't out yet. Meanwhile the Mile Morales's Cuban Flag Issue from Spiderman, which is actually offensive, took like a week to fix.

NFS Unbound is at 8 bucks on the PSN store, so I decided to buy it since it has been quite a while since I played a NFS game (new since rivals, but I also bought the remastered version of Hot Pursuit 2010).
Right of the bat, I am disappointed that they didn't went full celshading on the game.

It feels weird to have all the realistic graphics on environments and cars, but have the characters and some effects be celshaded.

The driving feels weird since it is not quite arcade but also not quite sim, the closest I can think of is NFS Undercover.

It seems that is quite grindy in how you get the cars, which feels like it will be  problem going on.

The other problem I have is the limited clothes selection.

Only 2 skirts, and you can't customize the colors, so you are stuck with red and an ugly pattern of gold and black.
And the shoe selection is so poor (as in the types of shoes, despite the number of foot wear available) that you can't really coordinate them with the 2 skirts you have.

EDIT

I am still hoping for a remaster of NFS Most Wanted 2011.

I think having a hot chick as the main character of a game is ok.  I hardly pay much attention to my character outside of menus and such.  Im usually lookin' everywhere else but at my character.  I do think its funny and kinda...feminine how dudes do indeed like to play dress up with that shit.  Like a doll.

^This dude is like 60 years old lmao.

And has a game he's (allegedly) working on and got kickstarter money for. Yet, he spends all day on this shit. It's hilarious.

I was looking for a new "make me feel better by just existing" dude to laugh at ever since the dude who led the charge against Shane Gillis (Seth Simons)  went private years ago. This Grummz guy is filling those shoes nicely.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact has gameplay out.

Looks promising...slight hype but I have some criticisms.  I had to relook up who was deving this game cause some of the hit impacts reminded me of Naruto GNT/CoN and that lines up with Eighting.   The big issue I'm having is some of the hits are lacking impact which GNT/CoN didn't have an issue with.   This issue feels multiplied when they showed Gon's super at the end.  It was SUPER anticlimatic and unsatisfying.  Game has some time to release so hopefully some of the impact gets fixed.   Marvel 3/ult Marvel 3 didn't have this issue either so wondering what's going on here.

Man they either grab random English words, or they use slang they don't know the meaning of.

It's like...Westabooing...probably heard someone say Hard R and thought it sounded cool and learned nothing more about it lol.

This is easily a possibility that someone on the team just saw/heard Hard R without context or looking up anything.

Maybe it WAS intentional, but they meant to invoke the Hard Rock Cafe.

Only thing I can think.

From what people that already played the game have said. "Hard" is just one of many random graffiti words throughout the city. This instance just happened to be next the "R-Shop".

I absolutely loved that game. That was probably my most played 360 game outside of Mass Effect 1 and 2.

As for Unbound. $8 is steal. I got in on PC a while back. It addresses some of the issues I had with Heat. Mainly the absurd costs of engine swaps versus the money earned for winning races. My main issue with Unbound is the AI and Cops. You can sort of remedy the AI issue be reducing the difficulty but at higher heat levels you just have to cheese the cops.  It takes some of the fun out of racing at night. You can cheese the ground units by find places that obscure their line of sight but once the chopper gets out, that becomes difficult. Their is gain sewer drain at a construction site that was my go to "ditch the cop and choppers" location. There are other spots that hide you from choppers but those don't hide you from ground units. :tldr: (Didn't mean to access Ultra Dimestinct Sign)

LOL a remaster of a remaster.

That sums up today's gaming industry.

Damn, you made me realize  my mistake. NFS: Most Wanted (2005) was one of my favorite games. NFS: Most Wanted 2012 was a completely different game. It was good, but it didn't hit me the same was the 2005 game did.

Agreed.  I played the shit out of it.  It was definitely better than the HD remake.

Since you mentioned on a post below, that you were talking about MW 2005, I have to say that I played it way later, after Carbon and Undercover.

So for me it doesn't hit the same way as Carbon for example, in terms of nostalgia.

Though, I can see why is beloved, since the game is really fun and has a charm to it.

But I have to say that I prefer Most Wanted 2012, simply because I am more into the super car NFS games rather than the tuner games.
Plus, HP2010 and MW2013 being made by criterion and building from the BO Paradise template only made them better in my eyes, since I love Criterion games (OG criterion though, not the studio wearing its skin that made Unbound, lol)

It is why after Rivals, I really have not touched any of the newer NFS games, since they don't really offer what I like about the series. (Also them being like 30fps on consoles didn't help)
I heard that Payback and Heat are not bad, and I think I have them on my psn+ account, so I could try them eventually

LMAO.
What HD remake are you talking about?
There is no remake of MW.
MW2013 is a different game in everything, they only share the name.

Stop getting your panties in a bunch.  I know it's not a 1:1 HD remake but it took the premise of the OG one and made the same concept style of game.

And it sucked compared to the original one.

What we really need (and I know we aren't going to get it) is a new Burnout game that is not open world.  I'd be happy never getting another open world racing game again.
