I was one of those naive kids back then that thought TMNT: The Arcade Game would indeed be arcade perfect or just really close....because "hey, it's 'The Arcade Game' and that's what they're going for..."  Man...some of the simple marketing things ya fall for as a kid, man...  my level of disappointment when I actually got the game was SEVERE.  No 4-player...and of course the graphics not being anywhere near as gorgeous as the actual arcade game....

What? No one I knew as kd expected Arcade Graphics on a home console.

Arcade games on the NES looked like NES games, even later when the Genesis and Snes was a thing we understood that the arcades are going to look better.

Only home console that looked like the Arcades was the Neo Geo AES and later Neo Geo CD. Outside the console made for rich kids, no one seen arcade perfect ports until the Dreamcast became a thing.

that's an odd thing... I never saw Turtles in Time in arcades.  The SNES version was the first time I even heard of it.  It's odd because the main arcades I went to in my childhood and later teen years usually had everything... any game that was the new hotness at the time, they had it...but just not that one for some reason.

The latest in race-swapping shenanigans... the new Resident Evil series trailer just dropped so of course it's time for everyone to point and laugh about that one too.... the dislikes/like ratio is awesome, of course:

To the folks at netflix, "character accuracy" is "too limiting" and doesn't matter, I guess 🤣  Yeah no one cares at all about that... let's get Gabourey Siddebe to play James Bond next, while Margaret Cho plays Adolf Hitler in a biopic about him...then maybe Zhang Ziyi could play E. Honda in a new Street Fighter film.... oh yes, and can't forget we have to get Seamus from WWE to play Shaka Zulu... and Ezra Miller should be the next Black Lightning.

...this "progressive casting" is fun...maybe for the biopic about Barack Obama we could get Zendaya to play him.  Jessica Chastain will be Joe Biden, Oprah Winfrey can be Donald Trump.

I would argue that the SNES Turtles in Tims is better than the arcade version

One my associates said if she's only around 21 years old and has smashed like a dozen+ niggas, she's a Pookiemon trainer and she's trynna catch em all  😂

One of my exes said a couple of her friends- who were rich girl cokeheads- had been with around 100 guys by age 20. Don't know if it was the truth, but if so, goddamn.

It was quite a shame... 'cause the home versions of Simpsons games were terrible.  I had Bart Simpson vs. the Space Mutants... on top of being terrible, the game was stupidly difficult too... I remember there was some near impossible jump in the museum level, and I think that was the end of it for me; I gave up there.

I've seen the Simpsons Arcade 1up machine quite often in the past few months... but I'll pass on that.  It was alright back then but not something I'd really go out of my way for now....especially since beatemup games have evolved quite a bit since then, obviously....and the nostalgia factor alone isn't enough to buy a whole A1up machine for that.

The only thing the Arcade version has over it is 4 player mode.  That's pretty big but not enough to beat out the home ports many additions.

There was a 3D remake of the arcade game but I never got to play it.

ooooh I can't wait to see how butchered that new Saint's Row is going to be.  You know certain youtube channels will be alll over that like flies on a fresh pile of shit.  Everyone will have a good time laughing about it for sure.  It will be like if someone in Hollywood made a 2022 remake of something like Porky's and Animal House.... and of course removed everything that was funny so as not to offend anyone.  ...or if you remade a typical 80s slasher horror flick and took out all the nudity and violence so it could be rated PG.

And now, Anna That Fine Ass Star Wars Girl is stranded in Compton for some reason...decided to go live.

I'd eat the hell out of that.

edit---haha she had to piss on the side of the road just a while ago.  Unfortunately she cut the stream while doing that.

*Life on Easy Mode---all you have to do is be a woman that looks like this....and look at how much Superchat money pours in just for her randomly streaming while having a broken down vehicle. 😆 Amazing.

edit 2---imagine being the tow-truck driver... you show up and THIS hottie is the one needing help....with her little tennis skirt on.  This is how a porn flick starts, folks.

these comments are killin me man... someone just posted "watch out for rappers." 🤣

Bart vs. The Space Mutants was a Godsend compared to that trash that was Bart's Nightmare.

I actually liked Bart's Nightmare more, probably because I could actually beat it. Now Bart Man vs Radioactive Man was awful and Virtual Bart was even worse.

Woooooo we got another a ass accusation going on here against F&F...... and oddly enough it's A&P of all people pointing out how ridiculous it is?!

yeah, keep making yourselves look dumb, ladies; I always enjoy it.  F&F themselves also did a stream yesterday roasting this shit, of course.

*doesn't want to be alone with him... finds him "creepy"....

*STILL does what he says and goes back to his place/studio...apparently not wanting to leave until much later.

Ok 🤣

You know I had Jurassic Park on SNES  as a kid and put a lot of time into but I can't really say I ever got very far into it or really got what I was supposed to do.

I beat that game.  I was home sick from school and pulled off something like a 20 hour marathon session.

I remember that it turned out to not be so hard once you figured out the several gatekeeping "you're going to die if you do this" gotchas.   The asinine lack of a save feature in a game that long made it seem harder than it was because you had to learn the game in "iron man" mode.

Netflix Issues Memo Seemingly Aimed at Easily Offended Employees: This ‘May Not Be the Best Place For You’

Netflix-e1652492499815.jpg

Netflix posted a “culture” memo for employees on Thursday, and it implied those who are easily offended or might seek to “control” others should find the exit door.

Some company employees staged a walkout last fall after comedian Dave Chappelle told transgender jokes which some found offensive during his last standup special for the streaming service.

CBS News reported after The Closer was released, employees held a rally to “underscore the importance of responsible content offerings that prioritize the safety and dignity of all marginalized communities.”

It appears Netflix is making an attempt to quell future protests. Its new culture document implies the company wants to work with thick-skinned people.

The memo states Netflix strives for inclusivity, but also asks employees to broaden their horizons, in so many words.

Quote

At Netflix, we aspire to entertain the world—creating great stories from anywhere and offering greater choice and control for people everywhere,” Netflix says. “To help us succeed, we’ve created an unusual employee culture. This document is about that culture, and how we can continuously improve as a team so that we can better serve our members.

Netflix advises employees, or potential employees, it is seeking to hire and retain people who value “judgment,” “selflessness,” “inclusion” and “curiosity,” among other personal attributes it finds attractive.

“At Netflix, positive and constructive feedback is part of everyday life—not only an annual event. Meaningful feedback can be hard to give or accept. But like any new habit, it gets easier with practice,” the memo says. “But it is an important part of getting stronger, as individuals and as a company, because it’s what fuels our dream team.”

If employees had any illusions they were part of a family, the company busts them:

Quote

We model ourselves on being a professional sports team, not a family. A family is about unconditional love. A dream team is about pushing yourself to be the best possible teammate, caring intensely about your team, and knowing that you may not be on the team forever. Dream teams are about performance, not seniority or tenure.

The memo grows more blunt from there. Netflix wants its team to know that there is no place for conscientious objections.

“Depending on your role, you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful,” the company cautions. “If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you.”

Netflix also says it wants employees who seek “context,” and not “control” regarding decisions about what subscribers consume.

The roughly 3,800-word memo can be read in its entirety here.

ha, well this was unexpected and hilarious... I happen to be subscribed to her channel since she was pretty damn fine, actually... hadn't seen her in a while though...but holy shit she just messed up big time:

edit---ah, that was months ago.  Checking her channel again just now... she eventually went back to making videos; just posted something yesterday, actually.

edit 2---another one I thought was cute from years ago but she quit youtube--- "Catrific".  She wasn't a perfect 10 necessarily but really quite cute, imo... I still check out Cat's instagram on occasion.  She didn't have anything major happen that I know about; she just decided to stop being a youtube person for some reason.

Aba and preach did this waaaay back...

But yeah it's terrible. This is when "content" goes too far but there's many disingenuous people doing stuff like this but haven't been caught...yet.

^lately, the "embedded" tweet on other sites is really the only way I can view Twitter messages, really... since I never signed up for that shitty platform.  They changed something about a year ago so that you'd have to be signed up just to read a twitter post once you get far enough down the page... now the "Sign in!" notice pops up right away, and yeahhh fuck that.  I've never had any desire to have a twitter account, and I doubt that will change any time soon.

Random fun fact---there was an old horror slasher movie with the title "Saturday the 14th".  I never actually watched it though... I just remember seeing it in the horror section when checking out movies back in the day.  Man, Friday and Saturday at your average Blockbuster or other local video store was the real deal... kids these days wouldn't really understand it.

ooh, I remember the typical Blockbuster would usually be right next to a Little Caesars.  So right there you have the PERFECT combo to start your weekend off right with a big (and cheap) pizza with sodas and some rented movies and/or games.
