Lantis
Well Double Dragon 1 was bastardized as fuck when it came out on the NES (it didn't even have a basic 2-player co-op feature), yet people don't bitch about DD 1 as much as TMNT II. I played TMNT II with my brother and fun times were had. The 2 bonus levels were also pretty dope J-ride, DangerousJ, Darc_Requiem and 1 other 4 Quote Link to comment
DangerousJ
My first exposure to the game was on the NES. I was happy because the only TMNT game I had played before was the 1989 Ultra singleplayer game with the dam level I was pretty happy because: It had 2 player gameplay I could actually beat it. The enemies were mostly recognizable from the cartoon/toys unlike the weird selection for the previous game. It came with a Pizza hut coupon. I could actually beat it I've actually only seen the TMNT arcade cabinet once 4 years ago at a local bar/arcade place here. I first went to arcades in 1992 so Turtles in Time was the only arcade game I was used to seeing. RSG3, Darc_Requiem, DarkSakul and 1 other 4 Quote Link to comment

Arcade games on the NES looked like NES games, even later when the Genesis and Snes was a thing we understood that the arcades are going to look better. Only home console that looked like the Arcades was the Neo Geo AES and later Neo Geo CD. Outside the console made for rich kids, no one seen arcade perfect ports until the Dreamcast became a thing. MillionX
that's an odd thing... I never saw Turtles in Time in arcades. The SNES version was the first time I even heard of it. It's odd because the main arcades I went to in my childhood and later teen years usually had everything... any game that was the new hotness at the time, they had it...but just not that one for some reason. The latest in race-swapping shenanigans... the new Resident Evil series trailer just dropped so of course it's time for everyone to point and laugh about that one too.... the dislikes/like ratio is awesome, of course: To the folks at netflix, "character accuracy" is "too limiting" and doesn't matter, I guess Yeah no one cares at all about that... let's get Gabourey Siddebe to play James Bond next, while Margaret Cho plays Adolf Hitler in a biopic about him...then maybe Zhang Ziyi could play E. Honda in a new Street Fighter film.... oh yes, and can't forget we have to get Seamus from WWE to play Shaka Zulu... and Ezra Miller should be the next Black Lightning. ...this "progressive casting" is fun...maybe for the biopic about Barack Obama we could get Zendaya to play him. Jessica Chastain will be Joe Biden, Oprah Winfrey can be Donald Trump. Edited May 13 by MillionX J-ride, RSG3, Hecatom and 1 other 4 Quote Link to comment

MillionX
It was quite a shame... 'cause the home versions of Simpsons games were terrible. I had Bart Simpson vs. the Space Mutants... on top of being terrible, the game was stupidly difficult too... I remember there was some near impossible jump in the museum level, and I think that was the end of it for me; I gave up there. I've seen the Simpsons Arcade 1up machine quite often in the past few months... but I'll pass on that. It was alright back then but not something I'd really go out of my way for now....especially since beatemup games have evolved quite a bit since then, obviously....and the nostalgia factor alone isn't enough to buy a whole A1up machine for that. Lantis
Bart vs. The Space Mutants was a Godsend compared to that trash that was Bart's Nightmare. Fuck that game as much as the latest seasons of The Simpsons. You know certain youtube channels will be alll over that like flies on a fresh pile of shit. Everyone will have a good time laughing about it for sure. It will be like if someone in Hollywood made a 2022 remake of something like Porky's and Animal House.... and of course removed everything that was funny so as not to offend anyone. ...or if you remade a typical 80s slasher horror flick and took out all the nudity and violence so it could be rated PG. I remember that it turned out to not be so hard once you figured out the several gatekeeping "you're going to die if you do this" gotchas. AriesWarlock
Netflix Issues Memo Seemingly Aimed at Easily Offended Employees: This ‘May Not Be the Best Place For You’ Netflix posted a “culture” memo for employees on Thursday, and it implied those who are easily offended or might seek to “control” others should find the exit door. Some company employees staged a walkout last fall after comedian Dave Chappelle told transgender jokes which some found offensive during his last standup special for the streaming service. CBS News reported after The Closer was released, employees held a rally to “underscore the importance of responsible content offerings that prioritize the safety and dignity of all marginalized communities.” It appears Netflix is making an attempt to quell future protests. Its new culture document implies the company wants to work with thick-skinned people. The memo states Netflix strives for inclusivity, but also asks employees to broaden their horizons, in so many words. Quote At Netflix, we aspire to entertain the world—creating great stories from anywhere and offering greater choice and control for people everywhere,” Netflix says. “To help us succeed, we’ve created an unusual employee culture. This document is about that culture, and how we can continuously improve as a team so that we can better serve our members. Netflix advises employees, or potential employees, it is seeking to hire and retain people who value “judgment,” “selflessness,” “inclusion” and “curiosity,” among other personal attributes it finds attractive. “At Netflix, positive and constructive feedback is part of everyday life—not only an annual event. Meaningful feedback can be hard to give or accept. But like any new habit, it gets easier with practice,” the memo says. “But it is an important part of getting stronger, as individuals and as a company, because it’s what fuels our dream team.” If employees had any illusions they were part of a family, the company busts them: Quote We model ourselves on being a professional sports team, not a family. A family is about unconditional love. A dream team is about pushing yourself to be the best possible teammate, caring intensely about your team, and knowing that you may not be on the team forever. Dream teams are about performance, not seniority or tenure. The memo grows more blunt from there. Netflix wants its team to know that there is no place for conscientious objections. “Depending on your role, you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful,” the company cautions. “If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you.” Netflix also says it wants employees who seek “context,” and not “control” regarding decisions about what subscribers consume. The roughly 3,800-word memo can be read in its entirety here. Camacho, J-ride, Darc_Requiem and 1 other 2 2 Quote Link to comment
