Speaking about comics, I was thinking about starting to read a bunch of them because there was some stuff that interested me, but really didn't know where to start because I'm kinda completely new to this.

Good news. There was this site some time ago called Comixology that sold digital comics and neatly organized them according to publishers, main character, series, and so on. It didn't have everything, but it had most of everything, and most importantly it was well organized. Only problem I think was that you had to go through hoops to download stuff, but you could still get it done back when I gave it a try.

So, even though I wasn't really buying anything, I got used to browse the site, take not of publishers and series that I might have wanted to check out in the future, expecting that when I felt I would have started buying some stuff here and there.

Well, too bad! Because Jeff Bezos showed up one day with his ugly fucking bald head and said: "Hey, let's buy this shit, I can probably finance my thirteenth yacht with it down the line". But it wasn't enough for him to buy the website and make money off it, no, his bald head was too dumb and fried by the sun for that. Good ol' Jeff decides that Comixology needs to be directly incorporated into Amazon, the old website and all its organization scrapped and thrown in the garbage. So instead of being able to look up for comics based on what each publisher offers, the main series for each and then the various runs they had, now the way you're supposed to do it is type stuff in Amazon search in the kindle section and hope you get what you're looking for. Back on Comixology you could also get suggestions from time to time about stuff similar to what you looked before, and in that way you could run into smaller publishers that would have been harder to notice otherwise. Now that's gone too and I assume that's kind of a blow to smaller comics publishers who probably rely on digital more than Marvel and DC.

Yes, everyone hated the move to Amazon. At least the Comixology Android app works like the old site and you can still read your comics there. They say they are working on improvements to the Amazon site, we'll see.

You can read about the disaster here:

If you are looking for something new, check out Coffin Comics. it's all about heavy metal-inspired supernatural comics 🤘. Battles, gore, and sex abound! With girls hotter and more evil than Ramlethal! What I really like  about them is that the publisher said if a comic is 40 pages then they want to give you like 30 pages of action! You can read them on the pirate sites, but if you decide to support them they sell them on their own website, they were on comixology but I can't find them on Amazon now. They also hold very successful Kickstarter campaigns

Honestly it depends on a few things

what character/team you’re interested in

Do you prefer something outside of the Big Two (DC/Marvel)

what genres you gravitate more towards

Comics, especially within the big two seem extremely daunting cause a lot of characters have decades of lore. Hulk and Thor for example have over 60 years of lore behind them. But it doesn’t mean you have to read all of it. Cause you don’t.

But ask the right questions, know what you’re interested in, and a little Google fu and you’re off to the races.

Okay I've seen comments about this Reddit comic issue that seemed to completely  miss the point. So I'll just spell it out plainly. If you can talk about the comic you are mentioning on reddit, it isn't relevant to the discussion. I'm specifically talking about a comic/company (Isom/Rippaverse) that is actively being banned and removed from any chance of discussion. If you are able talk about the matter on reddit, it's not applicable to this situation. There's more I'd have to say but I'm need to get back to work.

Exactly! We talking several hundreds of dollars people paying every month for insurance. Only to need it once or twice in their life time. Either government needs to make it so that people have to have the money to cover an accident when purchasing a car. Or make it so that insurance companies. Have to refund x percent of the premium paid. If no accidents occurred during the life of the policy

I am all for this. I've pretty much at this point bought my car twice. Total payouts over those years are around 10K (two hail storms and small repair to the rear quarter panel).

Car insurance at least needs to be done away with. Instead. A person buying a car. Should have x amount of money available for accidents. Upon purchase of the car. And that money should be set aside in an account. And should an accident occur. The bank can be contacted. And they'll use money from the account to pay for damages.

I'm sure it's more complicated than that. But this car insurance shit ain't it. It needs to go

NO . . . It absolutely does not.

Now should your insurance premium be as high as it is, no. In NC, this is what you are paying for to have at a minimum covered:

  • $30,000 Bodily Injury for each person,
  • $60,000 total Bodily Injury for all persons in an accident and
  • $25,000 for Property Damage.

That means that unless you have 100K lying around in the event of a serious crash, you won't be able to have "piece of mind" much less drive. I agree that the system needs to be reworked, but to abolish it completely would be a bad move, especially if a certain dollar amount is required. In the event of an crash, the policy allows for the person financially responsible in the event to cover the damages. This gets into the costs of medical care, property restoration, etc. A trip in an ambulance is over $800 with a minor to moderate  injury crash somewhere starting around $21K (per person). Any anything related to vehicle bodywork is at least 1K. An extreme cost shift would need to happen before we tie it to a person having funds to support most people owning a vehicle and deeming yourself financially responsible without a policy.

oh yes, another topic that is dear to my heart... I have to admit it is lovely to watch their frustration with the whole interracial dating thing... it seems like a good 97% of them cannot stand that shit (*when it's black men dating out...of course when THEY do it's all fine and dandy and we're not supposed to notice the hypocrisy.)  ...and 2 out of that remaining 3% just claims it doesn't bother them but they're most likely lying to make themselves look good...

There's interesting psychological issues at play there, I think... like they seem to have some sense of "ownership" over black men...and that's probably one of the reasons it bothers them so much to see any 1 dude hooked up with any non-black woman...especially if she's white, of course.  Oh yeah it's a loaded issue to say the least...there's a lot to "unpack" there.  (**oh and the funny thing is----we've all seen it... they'll be all bothered by the shit even when it's a dude we all know they would NOT have given the time of day in any other circumstance if he was trying to get with her..... like if Steve Urkel came back home from college with a nice PAWG girlfriend....the realistic thing that happens is Laura would be upset and constantly irked by this....even though she spent YEARS turning Steve down over and over again.)

I tried downloading the app even though I don't like using phones for this stuff, and while I can read the stuff I already owned here's another thing: only people in the US and UK can use the app to look for comics and buy them, if you're in some other European country you can only use the app to read whatever you happened to already own.

They really really need to fix their mess.

That was indeed one of the publishers I noticed back then. If I ever end up liking their stuff I'll have to find some way to actually support those people.

Not if you ask the Strive community.

Nothing can be evil-er than Ramlethal to those people.

Should have picked better characters. 🙂

Ok, fair enough. But we do agree car insurance companies. Shouldn't just be making bank off us. Simply because they can pay for damages that may never happen. I'd really like to take this to a congress person. Or whatever steps is needed to begin to make this a reality.

Imagine how much relief it would give the average person. To get a good portion of that premium back every 6 months for driving well.

I agree. The provider has a literal pool of money to work from. I don't know if it could be a large sum (e.g., 50+% back) but I certainly do think there is an opportunity to rework the cost to the insurer.

The only reason I carry auto insurance is because I don't want to be personally sued.  If it was more difficult to sue people I probably wouldn't bother.

This is pretty much the reason why you are required to carry it in order to access public roads.

Yeah but if you don't not a whole lot happens to you.  I've been in two accidents with uninsured motorists and the state did jack shit to them.

I think New Hampshire has a law where you aren't required to pay for car insurance but you need to demonstrate that you can afford to cover costs. Most people obviously can't especially when we get into six figures for different possible outcomes.

The bold section is the core element for why insurance exists.

Going back out of town again this weekend, I'm assuming this will yet again inevitably end with my homeboy trying to get me to fuck his wife again and me skillfully dodging it. It's just lines I don't cross, fam 😂

Cucks are so odd to me fam.  I was in a similar situation and I did not think it was worth it.  His wife was hot but you could just sense the crazy bubbling beneath the surface.  It definitely felt like if I crossed that line there would be a chance of getting stabbed at some point in the future.

You can buy them here

https://www.coffincomics.com/

They have a digital store front so you can buy digital directly from them, and they let you know when thru are doing kickstarter events.

I think I have backed two campaigns, one for a digital comic, and the other I purchased a shirt which included the digital comic, and both came with quite a few posters and cards, buttons and other memorabilia. They are pretty cool.

Never in my life would I suspect "I got 35 hoes at my house right now! If anybody want they dick sucked let me know!" would (or COULD) be screamed in anger at somebody as an insult.

But I haven't lived much life.

Anytime I see Boosie Badazz it triggers my bouncer PTSD. I worked a club in Baton Rouge, they played so much Boosie it wasn't funny. Boosie wasn't bad, but that dude Foxx....I didn't know he tracks outside of "Wipe Me Down" 🤣

Can someone explain why the batter is wearing a helmet but the (underhand) pitcher who is standing like 3 feet away from the batter isn't? 😂

Found some more footage from the stands

The umpires are like football refs lmfao I can't, this is amazing.

My guess about the cuck thing is that it's bi dudes trying to live that life vicariously.   Just seems like a way they can keep telling themselves that they're straight.

In other news, one of the major nightlife areas in Pittsburgh just had a state of emergency declared the other day.  I thought it was because of the couple of shootings on the street in the last couple of months, but no.  What got a state of emergency declared is that a woman was filmed at one of the rooftop bars inserting a Voss water bottle in her vagina, and the video went viral.  Local politician said: "Even people in Florida are looking at this. What does that say about us?"

America, where shootings are nbd, but somebody having their vag out will get the whole neighborhood shut down.

Honestly I listen to very little country, so that's all probably fair.  But country music fans haven't changed that much, so I'd bet coming out for socialism would be enough to really curtail the audience.  They'd probably end up having to rebrand as Americana.

They've changed more than you'd guess. Country is a lot more mainstream now than it ever used to be and the fanbases, while still like they used to be in some ways, a lot more accepting of a lot of things.

I think coming out as a socialist would be seen as an attack on America more than anything else by some of the fanbases, and given how much anticommunist/socialist propaganda we've gotten in the US (though some of it is not necessarily wrong) that would be something to reckon with. I'm sure the Sony thought a band of communists would be a subversive thing that couldn't really be bad in terms of the rebel factor.
