I had a teacher in 4th grade who was also of the same thought process that dinosaurs were some sort of genetic experiment.

He was also a very religious guy (and let's not forget how the whole dinosaur thing pretty much clashes with everything related to the Book of Genesis and such)

The funny thing is that, as far as I know, back in the Middle Ages European Christians wouldn't have had many issues with dinosaurs and a billion years old Earth that contradicted a literal interpretation of Genesis because they weren't really all that much into reading the Bible literally.

It's been a while since I studied that stuff, but I recall that Saint Augustine in the fifth century was arguing that you're supposed to interpret most of the Bible metaphorically rather than literally, and that in general symbolism and metaphors were dominant in European literature for all of the Middle Ages.

It seems it's mostly modern-day religious radicals that are making a big issue out of it.

Really dude? From your perspective, if you accept that there are men who believe themselves to be women, how hard would it be to fathom someone believing the Earth is flat?

I don't know, i think that men who think themselves to be women are more of a mental illness issue while flat earth would be based on being uneducated. It would be impossible to just believe the earth is flat given the education we have. It's possible to cater to people's insanity by making it political and using celebrities and pop culture to make accepting it a cool thing because there are people (as shown in this thread) whose views, beliefs, and opinions are all based on conformity to what is popular in society but it would be rather difficult to just make people believe the flat earth because where would they learn that? No school or any major political figure would teach that.

Flat Earthers are mentally ill, they do experiments disproving their own theory and still refuse to believe the data they themselves collected.

Which by the way is super funny cuz they do science backwards. They start with a conclusion and then work backwards to try and prove the conclusion correct instead of testing a hypothesis and accepting the repeatable outcome of the experiment they arrive at.

a islamic flat earther on youtube comments told me the same shit. that it was all cgi and camera tricks.

i told him what about a airplane window which shows the curve of the earth at a high altitude and he said, that the "windows" on a plane wasnt actually windows but tv screens showing fake images.

i then told him to go climb the top of the pyramids so he can see with his own two eyes the curve of the earth in every direction. since its a mountain in the middle of a flat desert.

and one can see the curve from whatev direction you look at.

i essentially stumped him. and he proceeded to go la la la i cant hear you. and proceeded to "praise allah, allah ahkbar etc" at me.

where i then:

I'll believe they exist when i actually talk to one and know he/she is being serious. Other than that they are just people who found a way to get views.

Your last paragraph also fits those who believe/defend the whole gender thing.

I can't say i'm 100% sure they don't exist, if they do they are probably less than 1% and everything is mainly just a scam to attract people to get invested in their content (even in a negative way)

The guy was probably dicking with you and you took him seriously which he found hilarious, especially with that "allah, ahkbar" part.
I have not met a single muslim that believed flat earth, in fact the Quran is much more accurate in scientific stuff than the Bible from what some skeptics told me.

Only for dumb fucks like you who haven't looked into the science of it.

There is no science, just leftist claims. Some leftists claims to be a good scientist but are actually full of shit and are just pressing on their ideology, anything he/she sprouts out is going to be hailed by SJW's and snowflakes no matter how dumb and false it is.

"looked into the science of it" my ass. The last argument we had on this, you couldn't even keep in context and chose to diverge with replies that had nothing to do against the points  I raised. Go to wholefoods please.

My brother believes the Earth is flat. We've gotten into heated discussions about it. He's really into conspiracy theories in general. It's gotten to the point where we just agree to disagree because I don't want to destroy our relationship over it.

Right. I was reminded of Eddie Bravo ...

I guess there is a few that do but it is extremely rare to find. There are probably more people who deny the holocaust than believe in a flat earth. They are not even worth acknowledging as an actual movement though.

Yes there is, you're just happy in your preconceived conclusion on the subject, just like the flat earthers are.

There is not, stop. The so called science are just liberals who got a degree and are making their own statements to push their agenda, anything they say will be accepted as science by the left because of confirmation bias. Biology and evolution shuts it all down, but you liberals rather accept the bullshit from frauds that appeal to your insane political views than actual science that has proof and evidence.

There is, no.

Nope. Here is an example. When any of these "transgenders" die and their bones are dug up 100 years from now, they will be identified and confirmed male or female based on their biology not because of what they believe to be or what to be accepted as because there is nothing scientific data or any biological findings that can be taken at a lab from the later because the later isn't real science.

GTFO with pop culture riding shit.

I don't like Biden. He's pretty embarrassing. Dude fucking stutters and he's old as dirt. Trump was embarrassing too, always showing his ass. We need to elect better leaders.

I don't really care about leaders letting loose every once in a while. Shows me that they're human, and I'd rather them be able to let off steam instead of holding that shit in all pent up and then hitting the nuke button. As long as they don't overdo it and get too crunk to the point where they think it's a good idea to hit the nuke button while blacked out or some shit.

Tulsi Gabbard could have been our Sanna Marin.

The level of narcissism and/or stupidity it takes to honestly believe in a flat earth is crazy. I look at most stupid conspiracies as just... stupid, but that one clear and away takes the cake. To believe that the government is somehow hiding that the earth is flat for unknown reasons? It's no wonder idiots like that buy into every other conspiracy.

But if you guys haven't seen Professor Dave debunk flat earth, it's a joy. It's just sad that people actually have to waste their time on these fools.

BEWARE: these videos are very long.

It randomly hit me to look up this old cartoon "Wheelie & the Chopper Bunch", and sure enough the intro was right there on youtube

I used to watch this on the "USA Cartoon Express" block that was on every weekday morning.  Back in the day, Hana Barberra was making cartoons out of everything, basically... there was even one about the Harlem Globetrotters called the Super Globetrotters, where one of the dudes could transform into spaghetti.

Yep, the Super Globetrotters:

Spaghetti-Man 🤣

haha that would be funny if when they see a boat disappear over the horizon they just assume "yep...those people died since they sailed off the edge...guess they found out the hard way."

...or perhaps they fall into the ice pit edge below and died that way....then maybe the Greys and/or the Reptilians rush in to confiscate the remains for further study.

The Ancient Greeks knew the Earth was round.  Pythagoras theorized that it was and Eratosthenes proved it was curved with a shadow and a stick and proceeded to calculate the circumference and was within a few hundred kilometers.

If the earth is fixed and does not move how do you explain the equinox?

OH MY LORD. Gina Carano is rich (she comes from casino money). She'll be fine, and can do whatever she wants. STILL. She was about to get a spinoff show at Disney, threw that away for tweets, and now she's getting her hair sniffed by a fake Joe Biden for a right-wing propaganda piece.

Even with all the money in the world, if that was my acting career, I couldn't sleep at night.

Carano recently released a low budget film called Terror on the Prairie and they kept promoting her as the "artist once cancelled by Disney". That shouldn't be a claim to fame guys....

But yeah she sure seems to double down and embrace the MAGA insanity. Might as well cash in big in that fanbase

I like how people read my last post in here and focused on the thumbs up and thumbs down.  It wasnt really about getting those.  Some of you guys arent so bright.  But you gotta hate...

Also, im glad it didnt get so hot here this year.  At least so far.  I mean, everyone everywhere else sayin' they're in a heatwave of death but its like low to mid 90's here.  Its usually in the hunneds around this time of year.

edit - also piracy is piracy.  Its illegal and you are either all for it or all against it.  There is no middle ground.

I didnt, just skimmed.  There was no reason to read it all.   You think piracy is fine as long as you and others benefit from it (media preservation).  You sir are a hypocrite.

P.S.  I have digital games on my drives that cant be found online or in physical form anymore.  So you should understand why I do what I do and be good with it because thanks to me future generations will get to play those games...if they ask me for them.

p.s. I am a digital media hoarder

P.S.  I also once told some guys this on discord.  I do buy games.  I've probably bought as many or more than most of you this year.  The thing is is that there are so many games and I want to try them all.  I cant really afford that so I do my own demo of many games.

He says while focusing on his reacts lol.

Dude it's just a way for people to disagree with you without having to make another post repeating their position.

You're the one who keeps bringing up the reacts, you're the one focusing on them lol.

I didn't thumbs up the post because I'm generally against piracy personally as I'd rather people who make the product get paid...that being said the difference between the piracy that you do and the piracy that Miria is talking about is Preservation.   Piracy for preservation purposes, I completely get and I understand.  It's still technically wrong but if it didn't exist then a lot of stuff would just be lost to time or sitting in a vault somewhere where nobody has access to it because of reasons.   Piracy just because you don't feel like paying for a product that just came out and is readily available is not the same.

So....at what point in what I said did you get the idea that I said "piracy is fine?"  Was it when I said "I didn't thumbs up the post because I'm generally against piracy" or when I said "It's still technically wrong"?      This whole post is not saying I'm not condoning any form of piracy just saying that if people are downloading games/movies/shoes for preservation purposes because there's no other way or it's going to be hard to find this media later that I get it.  It's equivalent of understanding where Kilmonger is coming from but still saying he's wrong.

NFT from the getgo was a silly concept, it was like the poors were trying to hide money in expensive art pieces the way rich people do.  But the silly part of the NFT was that you didn't have a physical copy of the "art" so you really didn't own anything.  It was the equivalent of saying out owned a meme or a jpeg.

I wonder how much of that has to do with them having kids... the first case I knew personally of a girl at my school that got pregnant early..(in 8th or 9th grade!)...she was cute before, but after the kid, she was already looking noticeably aged just a few short years later in high school (and of course dressing like an old woman too; like a preacher's wife that's 58 years old).  Our class hadn't even reached graduation yet and this girl was already looking like she was in her 40s!  It's like the kids drain their youth away that much faster.

There's another one I just remembered... in 10th grade she already had a daughter by that point... and she was another one that already looked middle-aged at that early point in life.

Late, but that's super pathetic. They know NOBODY cares about this other than to see someone who was "cancelled".

I think this is partially true, my wife had 2 kids but she doesn't eat fast food or  junk food.  I think when you become a mom it's pretty easy to hit the drive-thru and eat the same junk you feed your kids.  I look significantly younger than people I went to high school and college with because I don't have a crap diet.

Nothing like all the women who were not attracted to me being so concerned with my sex life as of late. "Hey guy I'm not having sex with, you better not be out talking to other women"

Pure madness 😂

Yeah women want to keep their backup dudes on lock indefinitely and it's a really bizarre concept to me.  I remember one of my co-workers told me she was so desperate that if things didn't pick up for her she would consider dating me.  Imagine being a man and saying some shit like that to a woman in current year working for any company!

Chicks don't like you wasting their time or saving them for later, but them doing it to you is fair game apparently
