He was?? I guess I missed him, who did he play?

Don't forget dude who played Omar. Went on to play Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire.

He was great too. Unfortunately he never got as big as Elba or Reddick did because he did some great stuff onscreen.

@HD-ManHey uh, any idea how bad a spill like this is??? 400k gallons of radioactive water. Spilled into the Mississippi River

According to that story it DID NOT leak into the Mississippi. Even so, I think a lot of nuclear plants could stand to be rebuilt from the ground up. A lot of them seem to be old technology retrofitted with updated things, but I don't think that's a substitute for actual new plants being built, especially since nuclear could check all the climate activist boxes while providing enough power.

Wanting to have an organized and clean pantry is a sign of racism, classism now...

Loyola U. Prof: Neatly Organized Pantries Are Rooted in Racism, Sexism

Quote

Cleanliness has historically been used as a cultural gatekeeping mechanism to reinforce status distinctions based on a vague understanding of “niceness”: nice people, with nice yards, in nice houses, make for nice neighborhoods.

What lies beneath the surface of this anti-messiness, pro-niceness stance is a history of classist, racist and sexist social structures. In my research, influencers who produce pantry porn are predominantly white women who demonstrate what it looks like to maintain a “nice” home by creating a new status symbol: the perfectly organized, fully stocked pantry.

Yay another uppity white broad telling us what's "rooted in racism." Yawn.

I thought it would be a hilarious idea to start a site where white guilt affected folks could pay and sign up to be slaves for black folks for a term. It's really easy to tell other people they're racist, but it'll be easier to take those claims seriously if the person in question is willing to put their job and life on hold to go work for free for some black people.

Hell, bring the family, even though there's a risk you might get split up and sent to different places. Depending on how benevolent the masters are, they might let you sleep in the basement, but you could also wind up under a tarp in the back so it would be a bit of a gamble I guess. But I think, especially the way things are now, it's important that we call some bluffs and see how committed to wanting to make right over past racism these folks really are. Nothing says "I really care" like being willing to be a human ottoman for a couple years.

It's not all that straight forward because decommissioning a nuke plant is itself a huge undertaking.  You can't really just strip a current site and throw up another reactor in the same spot in anything like a usefully short amount of time, so one of the questions becomes where do you actually put the new ones.

That company might need to gone file for bankruptcy. Jesus, our spill didnt make it pass the threshold of our boat and we were able to clean it all ourselves.

Weirdly, they could just release that water slowly enough into the river and it wouldn't even matter.

Defeated? This is such a stupid point.

A fetus in the range where most abortions happen literally cannot live without the mother and doesn't even have a nervous system. A newborn can be taken care of by anyone who wants to take care of them.

I can tell why these people (pro-lifers) always need to clip shit.

It's a stupid point, but there's no consistency to abortion arguments. That's why people keep arguing about it.

Viramin A through K are what I've needed after surgery, essential hypertension, and energy decline. The wellness is as it should be.

Vitamin K I only take as needed for better artery function. The T levels are too harsh for me lol. Overpowering overall, but does it's job.

Well well... today I finally found one of my favorite movies from the good ol' 1980s.... LEGEND... on blu-ray!!!  That store...it never lets me down.  I could spend half a day browsing in there.  ...but yeah, this is the first time I've had the movie since the VHS days when I recorded it off HBO.

I also found out that "Embrace of the Vampire" had a remake 10 years ago! There was a 2013 version:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3148890/

I didn't know this existed until seeing it on the shelf today in that store.  Of course I bought it immediately, along with the old one.  The one from 1995 is a certified "Skin Classic", folks... featuring my former #1 hottie Alyssa Goddamn Milano, and oh yes... she's naked in a few different scenes; all well-lit and at good angles.  If I recall there's even an upskirt shot at the beginning.  It's like they made this movie specifically for me.  I couldn't believe what a great one that was back then... the fact that my #1 (*pre-Halle era) did a movie like *that* and got naked in it... oh yeah I enjoyed the hell out of her scenes many times.

*I've already watched the newer one just now, and it was surprisingly alright, aside from the nudity, which was a surprise... I figured the good ol' days of gratuitous nudity were behind us at this point but nah... the 2013 one shows quite a lot of skin as well...including a lesbian scene.  This also has a cutie from Hemlock Grove... the one who played that werewolf guy's sister.  (Kaneihtiio Horn; sometimes credited as just "Tiio" Horn)

I got some more stuff for the movie collection as well... I saw a John Wick collection that was all 4k so of course I had to get that as well; I'm behind on that franchise; I've never watched all of it before.

Taking a two week vacation on the 21st. I'll be back in the states for that time. It has been quite the experience so far. Living outside the U.S. on a military base.

Exploring the city of Doha and seeing people from so many different places. You'd forget that Qatari's are the locals here, but it sure don't feel like it when they only make up 300k of a 2million population.

I always tell people I'm pro abortion. There are too many fucking idiots having children. More people should have abortions.

I'm Anti abortion still. I used to be pro but I changed my stance over the years. I disagree with your stance that we need more. Too many idiots having kids is not my problem nor should abortion be seen as a contraceptive. I really don't want to debate this here so I'll leave it at that.

@HecatomI had a psychology instructor that was on that stance of needing a parenting license. Considering how we enforce licenses to do a variety of things, I'm down still for that. I know many have argued against with when I bring it up because of how many cultural differences the US has BUUUUT there's some basic universal things that a kid needs when they grow up.

Bbhoody,

So do you get along with the local Qatar peeps?

Any other weird things you find that make it difficult compared to the US?

What's weird is what I mentioned earlier.  Now thisvall applies just to Doha. The locals are the minority. The vast majority of the population are immigrants with work visa. So its hard to really speak on Qatari's or their culture. Granted that's here in Doha. I'd probably have to explore outside the city to mingle with actual Qataris

I've met and talked with Indians, Turks, Pakistanis, Kenyans. So people from other parts of West Asia and Africa. But rarely do I see Qatari's outside of government jobs. And a rule of thumb? Don't go approaching Qatari women. They'll approach you if they want to.

English is pretty much the unofficial language. It's just easier that way with so many different people and their languages. So as long as you speak proper English, no slang. People can talk just fine.

Doha definitely has western influence. And was designed to attract international travelers. Seeing as how Qatar sought out the U.S for protection. In the event Saudi Arabia or Iran ever get hostile with them.

So there isn't too much of a culture shock here. Most Westerners should be able to fit in. They have customs and social norms you'd expect to from Muslim countries. But yeah its cool over here. But damn do I miss the greenery of Alpharetta. Just seeing desert at the base is depressing lol

such a shame that the bonnet fad has caught on with apparently every generation currently alive at this point....it's like an especially strong infection that cannot be stopped.  I saw a woman that appeared to be as old as my mom or in her generation (boomers) the other day with that silly, ugly, raggedy looking shit on her head... so she looked like an old "little goomba".  Fads usually come and go but I fear this one will be in the world for quite a long time.

One thing that could possibly kill it, I'm assuming.... if men could raise their damn standards a bit and stop fuckin' with them at all... like consider the bonnet itself to be an "instant disqualifier" item (even disqualifying them from being hittable one time), and if that became known to them.  There's no hope in that though...

  • Most men will never raise their standards (at least when it comes to just fucking; dudes will bone anything...sometimes it doesn't even have to be human or alive); this seems to be unlikely.
  • Even if this happened, I suspect a lot of them might react as you'd expect of a spoiled child with the "SO?! I'll wear it EVERY day then since it bothers ya so much... what yall gonna do NOW?"  ...since y'know...that's how they tend to react in any situation that criticizes or just questions whatever they say or do, really.  This appears to just be their default setting in modern times.  Yeah, have fun with that status of being on the absolute bottom of the totem pole of attractiveness then....not even attempting to ascend from that position.

From your pictures I am impressed by how clean the city is, but that's been my experience with a several 2nd world and 3rd world nations.  When I was in Hungary and Poland I was shocked by the lack of bums and crime.

She's trying to deflect and clutch her pearls over them having said something about people having kids but the thing is...she then went on later on twitter after the interview to take another shot at defining woke and she was still wrong soooooo....

And then to make it worst there were people trying to come to her defense and trying to define what woke was and STILL being wrong.  I wish I could find the thread if she hasn't deleted it already where she tried to define it a 2nd time on Twitter.

She got baited, but the definition she gave in the clip is part of what it is. I don't know if people just didn't get to see the whole thing, but she did give a definition after the stuttering. She could have just said "It's in the book, did you read it?" and it probably would have turned the tables.
