I think the big difference is the sense of community and shame actually keeping people in line for the most part.  Women still had kids out of wedlock then, but they were sneakier about it.  The parents would send the girl off to live with relatives out of town to have the baby in secret.  I guarantee you there are a ton of "younger siblings" who were out of wedlock kids of their older sibling.  Especially if you look back in the 1920-1950s, you will notice a ton of times that you have a 15 or 16 year gap in-between the siblings.

This is true.

 

My great grandfather's (who I never met because he was every inch the stereotypical charming Irish philanderer whose name was also George Carlin lol) mother had him out of wedlock at a young age, a fact their family took great pains to hide. They did send her away for a bit, but when she came back, they pretended that the child was her parents' child, not hers and raised him as his mother's sibling, at least as far as the outside world knew.

 

Society has let itself down for not holding people accountable for this type of thing.

I was rooting for the movie, and some scenes were heartwarming nostalgia but ultimately the film is completely unnecessary (a sequel for the sake of it which is something the movie itself jokes about). The parts that gave "TV Movie" are the worst offenders. Thankfully I watched the movie for the first time tripping on acid so it was bearable but once sober I realized what a mess the film was.

There was just no story left to tell here. If they really wanted to do a Matrix sequel, the Animatrix showed us that there is room for growth outside the Neo arc.

I think the Animatrix introduced 2 important elements that could've easily been explored in a new Matrix films. The Second Renaissance episodes showed us that there is a lot of narrative that could be generated from that chapter in the universe's history. Then there is the Matriculated episode which I think opens the door for a possible future where AI and Humans not only coexist, but could marry into each other and share one another willingly/consciously.

Terrible missed opportunity, but again I did not hate. I enjoyed watching all these actors embody the roles again. It was very fun for that at least.

The "forced down" language requires a stretch in validity. I agree, this looks like someone was texting and flying and clipped it's wings. 

 

Makes it seem like it was shot down but was moreso a force of gravity and principles of physics that brought it down.

I actually don't think this "incident" was particularly important- the whole media around it seems like a deliberate move to blow it out of proportion.  Fighter pilots do wild shit all the time and it usually goes unreported.

 

But it's pretty clear in the video that the jet is actively changing it's vector to head right toward the drone.  I'm guessing the pilot just wanted to brush past it super close for giggles or whatever, because there's no way they were trying to deliberately down a drone by potentially killing themselves if the collision went wrong.

Yeah, the mindset has changed. Women in her predicament used to bend over backwards and do everything they could to get a man to take on her and her kids.  They realized back then that they had to give a dude reason to take on her baggage when he could simply pursue a woman without kids.

It's a shame too because the arc of Michael coming to the end  of his career and passing the torch and it mirroring Vito's situation in Godfather 1  could have been incredibly poignant. I don't think it's awful, but the quality of it definitely not up there with the first two. Apparently Julia Roberts was originally supposed to play Mary but there was some scheduling conflict that she couldn't do it.

 

I read the first Godfather book and Puzo isn't a great writer but the story has good bones, which were made into something really great by Coppola.Puzo and Coppola wrote Godfather 3 together and I think that had something to do with the lack quality of the story, but apparently Coppola only took up the offer to make the movie because some other movie he'd made flopped and he needed the money. So there's that too.

Yeah---I think the best way to fix things when making a Matrix sequel at this point would have been the anthology series route.... same world and concept but telling the story of a new group of characters.  

 

This movie also reminded me that it's a great tragedy that there hasn't been that many Matrix videogames ever produced.... I only remember of an MMO that I think got canceled, and a GC/PS2/Xbox era game called "Enter the Matrix", which only looked "ok" at best.  The concept seems like it would be perfect material to base a game series on.  I'm not always a fan of the mmo genre (I usually hate it, actually) but it seems like a good fit might be something like DC Universe Online... big open world of "The Matrix" itself with some "real world/Zion/Io" areas here and there....and your customized original character would meet and interact with established names like Morpheus, Trinity, the Merovingian, the Oracle (she would be perfect to give the player quests, find out info about the world, reset skills/abilities etc), etc.

 

man, I love that world so much... I remember having a dream about being in The Matrix one time... I met up with Morpheus and Trinity, and we were on the run from the 2 rogue programs that were actually.... actress Michael Michelle and that comedian Margaret Cho!  ha, that shit was out of left field as I don't care 1 way or another about Margaret Cho, but for some reason, she was there in my Matrix dream as a dangerous "program".

He's basically a soft version of Fresh&Fit. He lacks the energy, assertiveness and willingness to be confrontational like Myron. And really doesn't do anything different.

 

As far as sexual purity? A woman can do what she wants. But most dudes ain't trying to wife a woman that has been out here in these streets.

Yes they are, total bullshit my dude lol. Like this is my issue Fresh & Fit on this subject, these dudes preach like this is the common mentality and it's really not. Most dudes are fine to marry anyone who improves their life wether they come from the streets or not. Dudes pretend to be picky but they really aren't and never ever have been and never will be.

Yes you can. Thats exactly what I'm arguing against. It's pure nonsense, the fact these dudes even care about a girls body count is pathetic. Like so what if she has a lot of sexual partners? Dudes have tons and no one gives a shit. They only care with women, it's such a stupid double standard men lean on to act like they have meaningful standards when they don't. Fresh & Fit are like Steven Crowder. Forget Fresh&Fit. This is solid advice that goes back centuries. A woman that lives a promiscuous life style should be a man's last choice for a wife.

 

Put a promiscuous and a woman with few sexual experiences together. And you'll see a night and day difference between their demeanor, how they carry themselves and most importantly. How they view men.

Some women have high body counts because they have personality disorders and/or poor executive function.

I do know the kind of women you have in mind to avoid, but you're just putting the cart before the horse if their body count is the part of the equation you're really concerned about.  The Virgin/Whore dichotomy is a trap MEN get caught in.

 

Worst cases of Virgin/Whore mindset I'm familiar with end up with guys who never have sex with their wives, but waste all their energy on porn and strippers.
